Inga Cotton

Inga Cotton is the Founder and Executive Director of San Antonio Charter Moms (SACM). Back in 2012, she was researching schools for her own son, who had recently been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. She realized how difficult it was to find trustworthy information for her own family and resolved to create a free resource for other families to find schools that are the right fit for her children. SACM has grown to include a website with a guide to over 180 campuses, an online discussion group with over 14,000 members, and school fair events that host over 1,000 guests. Exercising school choice has helped Inga’s own children to thrive. This year, her son is a senior at the School of Science and Technology—San Antonio College Prep High School, where he studied graphic design, and is applying to college with hopes of becoming an architect. Inga’s daughter is in 9th grade at SST, where she loves learning math and is a member of multiple robotics teams. Inga and her family enjoy exploring San Antonio, especially trying new restaurants and hiking the greenway trails.
