Maira Alejandra Carrier, MPH

Maira Alejandra Carrier, MPH, is a U.S. Army Veteran and the Education Organizer at Futuro San Antonio. In this role, Maira is instrumental in building relationships with families, youth, and educators, empowering them to advocate for educational excellence and equity across South Texas. Drawing on her over 10 years of experience in program development, Maira works closely with community leaders and grassroots organizations to amplify voices and drive change in public education. As a First-Generation college graduate with a BA in Human Resource Development and a Master of Public Health from Hawaii Pacific University, Maira continues to integrate her expertise in education, culture, and mental health to create safe, inclusive learning environments. Maira’s leadership has been recognized nationally with the Lifetime Achievement President’s Volunteer Service Award, and she remains dedicated to ensuring that all children have access to high-quality education through her advocacy at Futuro San Antonio.
