Sayda Mitchell-Morales is the Communications Director for Futuro San Antonio. Born and raised by her Mexican and Honduran family in the South Bronx, NY, Sayda became the first in her family to obtain a college degree earning her B.A. in Sociology from Whitman College. Afterwards, she completed her Teach for America service in Western Massachusetts and earned her M.Ed. from Boston University. She was a classroom teacher and learning specialist for 8 years before serving as Community Impact Manager, Senior Manager of Community Development & Advocacy, and eventually, Senior Manager of Civic Education at KIPP Texas Public Schools. She proudly and happily lives with her husband, 2 sons, 1 dog, and 2 cats on the SE side of San Antonio.
